FAQ3: Is the reliability of liquid crystal (LC) based devices good enough for telecom applications?

FAQ3 Answer For decades, LC based devices have been used in the computer display industry and demonstrated very good reliability. However, the typical operating conditions in telecom applications are more adverse and harsh than those in the display industry. To meet these new reliability challenges, many efforts have made by our engineering team, including material selection, cell assembly and device packaging, in design and development of the LC devices. Designed to meet the Telcordia GR-1221, a commonly accepted industrial reliability standard, our LC-based device is currently under qualification. As of today, it has successfully passed the temperature cycling and all mechanical integrity tests.
